Online Panel: Music Therapy from Past to Present - 20.11.2020
Music Therapy was included within the scope of "Traditional and Complementary Medicine" by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey in 2014, and music therapy certificate programs were launched by universities in 2018. The panel called Music Therapy from Past to Future, which will be held within the scope of the seventh year of the European Music Therapy Day events held in the historical center on November 15 every year, aims to introduce and contribute to the dissemination of the field of Music Therapy, which has no accredited undergraduate programs in our country, only certificate programs. The panel discussed the framework of Music Therapy, its applications in Turkey and in the world, its prevalence and acceptance, its fields and target groups; Topics such as the use of music in the field of health throughout history and who is a music therapist will be included. The target audience of the panel is professionals and academicians working in the field of Music Therapy, as well as employees and students of the fields of Music Education, Music Performance, Music Theory, Psychology, Social Work, Psychological Counseling and Guidance, Mental Health, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Special Education and Health. They are people who hear. It is thought that the panel held online will be beneficial in terms of raising awareness and motivation for the field of Music Therapy.

The panel will be chaired by Muzaffer Özgü BULUT, Founding President of the Music Therapy Association and Head of the Department of Musicology at Hacı Bayram Veli University Turkish Music State Conservatory, Prof.Dr. Burçin Uçaner ÇİFDALÖZ, Giovanni Ferrari Music Therapy School faculty member Prof. Dr. Alessio SURIAN and Music Therapy Academy Founder and European Music Therapy Confederation Turkey Representative Özgür SALUR will attend as speakers. In addition to the panel chairman and speakers, the organizing committee of the panel includes OMÜ Department of Musicology faculty members Dr. Fülya AÇIKSÖZ and Dr. Pınar Beşevli is located in SOLMAZ.
