Music for My Mother: Project for Social Service Oriented Musical Activities (4th April - 3rd October 2023)
Our Conservatory faculty members Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Emin Ersöz YİĞİT and Öğr. Gör. Oğuz YILMAZ participated in the project “Music Activities Focused on Social Work: Recreational Music Practices for Mothers of Children with Special Needs,” supported by OMU Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit (BAPKOB).
The project is led by Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Beril Tekeli YİĞİT (Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education, OMU). The research team included Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Senem GÜRKAN (Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Social Work), Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Emin Ersöz YİĞİT (Music Department, OMU State Conservatory), Öğr. Gör. Oğuz YILMAZ (Traditional Turkish Music Department, OMU State Conservatory), Research Assistant Baran GÜLÜM (Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education), and OMU Master’s Student Buse Nur DAĞCI.
The six-month project aims to enhance the socialization, motivation, and emotional resilience of mothers of children with different types of special needs through recreational music activities (designed to support physical, mental, and emotional rejuvenation).
